If its of any help, I'm using a Kensington Expert Trackball mouse, Model#:K64325, so maybe there are some conflicts with that particular driver. Once I reinstalled v2.7 everything works normally again, so I'm in no particular rush now. I have just tried v2.8.5 and it has the same problem, at least on my Win7 Ultimate 圆4 PC. I can say this because I have not observed any problems until the v2.8.4 I can tell you that I've been running X-mouse starting with v2.6.2, I am a heavy user of the Snipping Tool so have used this tool without problems all the way to v2.8.0. Sorry I'm not a developer, so not sure how much good feedback I can provide.
